For patients looking to achieve tighter skin and reduce wrinkles, Potenza in Cupertino can help. Potenza is a type of radiofrequency microneedling treatment that features Tiger Tip technology.
This minimally invasive treatment penetrates the middle layer of the skin to trigger collagen and elastin production. This increase in collagen and elastin rejuvenates facial skin, improves acne scars and surgery scars, and reduces fine lines.
What Is a Potenza Treatment?
Potenza is an FDA-approved radiofrequency microneedling device used for stimulating collagen and elastin production in the face and body. It has ultrafine needles that deliver RF energy deep into the dermis, or middle layer of the skin.
The heat of these energy waves helps regenerate collagen and elastin, which are responsible for smoother, firmer, and healthier skin. Collagen and elastin are types of protein that correct skin sagging, dryness, and loss of muscle mass.
As we age, our body produces less collagen and elastin. A Potenza treatment can boost the growth of these proteins to slow skin aging and maintain skin elasticity and hydration.
How Does a Potenza Treatment Work?
Potenza RF microneedling activates the skin’s natural healing process. Every minute, our skin loses 30,000 to 40,000 skin cells. Our skin naturally repairs itself every 27 days, but this slows down as we age. Wound healing is four times slower for aging skin.
With Potenza RF microneedling technology, collagen and elastin production is improved to aid in faster skin repair and hydration. This smooths away fine lines and wrinkles. As long there is an abundance of collagen and elastin in the dermis, moisture is maintained for younger-looking skin.
Am I a Good Candidate for Potenza RF Microneedling?
People who want to concentrate on reducing fine lines and moderate wrinkles are the best candidates for Potenza RF microneedling. This treatment is excellent for skin tightening, evening out skin tone from sun damage, repairing acne scars, and improving the appearance of stretch marks.
Potenza RF microneedling is suitable for all skin types if there is no medical history of clotting or bleeding disorders. People with medical conditions such as eczema or diabetes and those with a weak immune system may not be the best candidates for Potenza, since these conditions highly affect skin healing. Patients with active acne breakouts must also avoid this treatment.
Your Potenza Consultation
The consultation for a Potenza treatment includes an in-depth conversation regarding your medical history and appearance goals. Since Potenza RF microneedling is a treatment that will involve pricking the skin with Tiger Tip technology, our skin experts must determine whether your skin’s repair and healing cycle is suited for this process.
Your Potenza Session
During a Potenza RF microneedling session, the skin will first be cleansed of makeup and impurities. After cleansing, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the selected skin area for treatment. It will take at least 30 minutes for this cream to take effect.
Once the skin is numbed, the Potenza microneedling device is placed against the skin to penetrate and distribute radio frequency energy within the dermis. Collagen and elastin can be expected to be produced at a faster rate over the course of four to six weeks after treatment, and best results are typically visible around 12 weeks.
After a Potenza RF microneedling treatment, swelling, redness, or irritation may be visible on the treated area. These symptoms fade away in two to three days. No recovery time or downtime is needed.
Refrain from jacuzzis, saunas, or steam baths for at least 24 hours to keep your open pores safe from irritation. If inflammation occurs, do not engage in the above-mentioned activities for 48 hours.
Apply ice packs to always reduce swelling and wear proper sunscreen, since the newly treated skin will be highly sensitive to the sun. Use a gentle cleanser and avoid wearing makeup until 24 hours have passed. On the following day, you may continue with your regular skin-care routine.
How Much Does a Potenza Treatment Cost?
The price of a Potenza RF microneedling treatment will depend on the number of sessions you are advised to undergo. For better results, it is recommended to undergo three to four treatments with six weeks of rest time in between. Since a Potenza treatment is purely aesthetic, medical insurance will not cover it.
